Program description:

Abacus In-Home Tutoring, Inc. delivers the individualized instruction students need to meet their academic goals in reading and mathematics. Abacus specializes in working with all students in Kindergarten through twelfth grade, including students with disabilities and English language learners. Parents are informed of their student's progress toward goals on a regular basis while monthly written progress reports are provided to parents. Students who complete the Abacus program show an average of a years worth of growth!

Abacus instructors are either state certified teachers or degreed professionals (with a minimum of 60 hours of college credit) and relevant tutoring or teaching experience. Preference is shown to applicants with teaching certifications and/or advanced degrees, as well as current or prior experience working with Title I students.

BRAIN HURRICANE MAKES LEARNING FUN! Brain Hurricane's program is different because Brain Hurricane uses hands-on activities to teach both math and reading. We help improve student test scores and develop problem-solving skills for all, including students with disabilities and English Language Learners.

Brain Hurricane sessions are taught by state-certified teachers or college educated (with a minimum of 60 credit hours), qualified individuals, all of whom receive extensive training from Brain Hurricane. All of the instructors are high-energy individuals who are enthusiastic about hands-on-learning and believe in the power of creativity, collaborative learning, positive reinforcement, and raising test scores on State Standardized Tests.

Program description:

The Indianapolis Algebra Project (IAP) provides tutorial remediation and enrichment in elementary arithmetic, intermediate mathematics and Algebra. The IAP specializes in math because it is a subject that is extremely important in today's society.

Tutors must have previous experience tutoring with students. Tutors must have one of the following: Teacher's License, College Degree, Associate's Degree or 60 hours of college credit. Tutors must pass the Criminal Background Check and be cleared by the Sex Registry. Tutors must attend Algebra Project Training and workshops. Tutors must submit at least 3 references from previous or current employers.

Program description:

Ole Miss Tutoring Center will provide high quality, researched and standard based instruction in language arts, reading, and math, for grades K-5. Tutors will provide well-designed, effective instruction that will increase students exposure to Indiana Academic Standards where they are deficient. Assessments will be used to establish a baseline instructional level and tutors will monitor student responses to ensure that adequate growth occurs.

SES National is a results oriented supplemental education provider that uses research-based curriculum and targeted remediation. Founded by educators and business professionals, SES National is a quality education provider that lives up to its word and delivers positive results. SES National also does business as SES of Illinois and was given the award for the provider with the Highest Math Added Value by Chicago Public Schools as published in a March 2009 report by Dr. Curtiss Jones of the Chicago Public Schools System.
